Whether you are reconnecting with your Italian heritage, preparing for a trip to Italy, or simply passionate about the language and culture, our classes offer a welcoming space to learn, explore, and build confidence through real-life experiences.

Combine movement, mindfulness, and language learning in our new Yoga in Italian classes.
Led almost entirely in Italian, these sessions are suitable for students with a basic knowledge of the language as well as more advanced speakers. You’ll follow yoga instructions, learn useful everyday vocabulary, and improve your listening comprehension – all while enjoying the physical and mental benefits of Hatha yoga.
No previous yoga experience is required. Just bring comfortable clothing and an open mind.

Bring the beauty of the Italian language to life through literature, poetry, theater, and storytelling.
Our Expressive Reading in Italian course helps students develop pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, and speaking confidence by reading aloud classic and contemporary Italian texts. Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll explore the musicality of Italian while strengthening your communication skills in a fun and interactive atmosphere.

Questo ciclo di incontri è un viaggio alla scoperta dell’anima della città attraverso le opere d’arte, le architetture e le storie che ne hanno costruito l’identità. Dalle origini medievali alla grande stagione rinascimentale e barocca, dai suoi celebri portici ai palazzi aristocratici, dalle chiese alle collezioni d’arte, esploreremo Bologna non solo come insieme di monumenti, ma come una città viva, modellata nei secoli dal rapporto tra sapere, potere, devozione e vita quotidiana.

A oltre duemila anni dalla sua composizione, le Metamorfosi di Ovidio continuano ad affascinare i lettori con le loro straordinarie storie di amore, desiderio, ambizione, vendetta e trasformazione. Questo ciclo di incontri vuole essere un salotto letterario dedicato alle Metamorfosi, uno dei testi più influenti della cultura occidentale.
Prima di ogni incontro, i partecipanti leggeranno una selezione di passi del poema; durante le conversazioni, i racconti di Ovidio saranno il punto di partenza per esplorare insieme temi universali e per scoprire come questi miti siano stati reinterpretati attraverso alcuni dei più grandi capolavori della storia dell’arte. Da Botticelli a Tiziano, da Bernini a Caravaggio fino a Dalí, seguiremo il viaggio delle Metamorfosi nelle immagini create dagli artisti nel corso dei secoli, rivelando come ogni epoca abbia trovato nuove interpretazioni per queste storie senza tempo e perché esse continuino ancora oggi a parlare alla nostra immaginazione.

Discover Italian cinema. Deepen your Italian. Join the conversation.
Starting this September, Collina Italiana invites students to explore the history of Italian cinema through some of its greatest films. Each month, we’ll watch a classic and then come together to discuss it, share ideas, and practice Italian in a relaxed and engaging setting.
Every last Thursday of the month, for 1 hour, we’ll explore the films that have shaped Italian cinema from the postwar period to the present day.
From the unforgettable films of Federico Fellini, Ettore Scola, Paolo Sorrentino, Nanni Moretti, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Marco Bellocchio, Lina Wertmüller, Alice Rohrwacher, and many others, the Movie Club will offer a chance to discover—or rediscover—the stories, characters, and ideas that have defined Italian cinema.
The sessions will be moderated by Adriano Ercolani, film critic and member of the Critics Choice Association.

Experience the world of Italian opera through the productions featured in the upcoming season. Opera Italiana classes combine Italian language, music, history, culture, and performance as students explore some of the greatest works of the Italian Opera tradition.
Throughout the course, students will learn about and discuss selected Italian operas from the Met season, exploring their stories, characters, composers, historical contexts, and cultural significance. We will examine excerpts from the libretti and discover how the Italian language comes alive through music, dialogue, and dramatic expression.
Students will also explore the world behind the performances, from the historical period in which each opera was created to the social and cultural ideas reflected in its characters and stories. Particular attention will be given to language, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
Through listening, discussion, close examination of scenes and performances, and cultural exploration, students will develop a deeper appreciation of Italian opera while strengthening their understanding of the Italian language and its cultural heritage.

Discover Italian through the universal language of music! Italiano con la Musica is a fun and engaging class where students learn and practice Italian through songs, rhythms, lyrics, and the rich musical traditions of Italy.
Students will explore a variety of Italian music and artists while building vocabulary, improving pronunciation, developing listening comprehension, and gaining confidence using Italian in a natural and enjoyable way. Through songs and interactive activities, students will learn useful expressions, discover aspects of Italian culture, and explore the meaning and stories behind the music.
The class combines language learning with creativity and cultural exploration, making Italian more memorable and meaningful. Students will have opportunities to sing along, analyze lyrics, learn new words and expressions, practice conversation, and discover different styles of Italian music, from traditional songs to contemporary artists.
