Prepare and take your italian language exam at Collina Italiana
Celi is the offical Italian language exam, for adults and adolescents, that verifies ones proficiency in Italian.
Certificates issued by Perugia University for Foreigners are the only Italian language certificates included in ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe). They are comparable per level with the most important language certification granted by European institutions belonging to ALTE and comply with the learning objectives specified in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Collina Italiana is one of the official centers for the Celi examination in the Usa, for both Celi Adulti and Celi Adolescenti. Celi exams are in person. The Italian language exam for adults takes place 3 times a year.
The Italian language certification – Celi Adulti and Adolescenti – can be used for work, school, and citizenship purposes.

Celi Adulti
Are you learning Italian and would like to obtain an official language certificate?
The Celi exam is a certified language test issued by the University for foreigners of Perugia through ALTE – Association of Language Testers in Europe.
The italian exam Celi verifies and officially certifies ones Italian skills: speaking, listening, comprehension, writing, vocabulary and grammar.
Italian language exams are for levels:
- Celi 1 – Level A2
- Celi 2 – Level B1
- Celi 3 – Level B2
- Celi 4 – Level C1
The dates for the Celi exam are the same worldwide: March, June and November.
Celi for Citizenship
Are you married to an Italian citizen and planning on applying for Italian citizenship?
You will have to take the Celi 2 – Level B1 language exam and Collina Italiana is the right Center for you.
B1 – Celi language exam is a certified language test issued by the University for foreigners of Perugia through ALTE – Association of Language Testers in Europe.
Collina Italiana offer classes in preparation for the Celi 2 – Level B1. This Italian language exam Level B1 verifies ones Italian skills: speaking, listening, comprehension, and writing.
- Celi 2 – Level B1
Celi B1 exam: March, June and November.
Celi A - Adolescenti
The Celi A – Adolescenti (Adolescents) exam is a certified language test issued by the University of Foreigners of Perugia through ALTE – Association of Language Testers in Europe and it is for students ages 12-18.
This Italian language exam verifies and officially certifies ones Italian skills: speaking, listening, comprehension, writing, vocabulary and grammar.
Collina Italiana offers the Celi A exam for levels:
- Celi 1a – Level A2
- Celi 2a – Level B1
- Celi 3a – Level B2
The Celi A – Adolescenti is given once a year worldwide: in May.
