The Celi 2 – Level B1 is the exam one needs to take in order to apply for Italian citizenship through marriage.
Collina Italiana is an official center for Celi exam. The University for Foreigners of Perugia issues the Celi exam through ALTE – Association of Language Testers in Europe.
This test verifies and officially certifies ones Italian skills: listening, comprehension, writing, and speaking. More specifically, Celi 2 – Level B1 is an Intermediate level and it consists of 4 different sections: three written parts which take 2h and 20min, and the speaking part takes about 12min (plus 12min of prepration).
The Celi exam is given 3 times a year worldwide: in March, June and November.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: 40 days prior to the exam.
FEE: $230 – ($175 exam fee + Language Center fee).
RESULTS: Within 2/4 months from the exam. The University will post the results on the Student Portal.
CERTIFICATE: The University will mail the certificate to the Language Center. The Center will contanct the students once the Certificate is available for pick up.
EXPIRATION: The Celi Certificate does not expire.
