The CELI 2 – Level B1 is the exam one needs to take in order to apply for Italian citizenship through marriage.
Collina Italiana is an official center for Celi exam. The University for Foreigners of Perugia issues the CELI exam through ALTE – Association of Language Testers in Europe.
This test verifies and officially certifies ones Italian skills: listening, comprehension, writing, and speaking. More specifically, CELI 2 – Level B1 is an Intermediate level and it consists of 4 different sections: three written parts which take 2h and 20min, and the speaking part takes about 12min (plus 12min of prepration).
The CELI exam is given 3 times a year worldwide: in March, June and November.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: 40 days prior to the exam.
FEE: $295 – ($165 exam fee + Language Center fee).
TEST-DAY SCHEDULE: Students should alot a full day to take the test (9AM-4PM) although, based on enrollments, the day may end before or after then.
RESULTS: Within 3-4 months from the exam. The University will post the results on the Student Portal.
CERTIFICATE: Certificates will be available to the Exam Center weeks after the results are posted. Students will be notified once they are ready for pick up.
EXPIRATION: The CELI Certificate does not expire.

CANCELLATION POLICY: All refund requests must be submitted via email (info@collinaitaliana.com) prior to the exam registration deadline (40 days before the exam date) in order to receive a full refund, minus a non-refundable $20 cancellation fee. Once the registration deadline has passed, enrollments are confirmed by the University of Perugia and are completely non-refundable. For extenuating circumstances, please email info@collinaitaliana.com to discuss the possibility of an exception.
